Gurusahay Deosharan Memorial College, Harnaut (Nalanda) is located in Harnaut Block of Nalanda district in Bihar. The college is situated on Patna-Ranchi National Highway 31 (NH-31). History
The college was established in 1979 by educationists, social workers and intellectuals of Harnaut Block of Nalanda district. It was at first managed by Shri Bhola Prasad Singh, Ex-Minister of Bihar State, and the late Shri Dulari Singh, Ex-Panchayat Pradhan. The college is named after Gurusahay Deosharan Memorial, honouring the late Guru Sahay Lal (1890-1949), who established many educational institutions in old Patna district, and the late Deosharan Singh (1903-1975), a well-known freedom fighter.
Academics
The college has been imparting degree courses in Arts, Science and Commerce faculties since 1979. Vocational courses including BCA, BBM, Tourism, Applied Psychology, Applied Sociology, Embroidery technique and Accounting have also been introduced.
