The Foundation for Montessori Education is a not-for-profit charitable organization founded in 1989 that delivers AMI Montessori training.
The Foundation for Montessori Education (FME) is a registered not-for-profit charitable organization. It was founded in 1989 by Renilde Montessori, Dr. Maria Montessori's youngest granddaughter, who was also instrumental in incorporating FME as a not-for-profit charitable organization. FME's mission is to educate and prepare adults by delivering authentic, high-fidelity Montessori education.
FME's vision is to create a community that is fully integrated, where children, adolescents, adults, and elders can come together, play together, and learn from one another.
FME offers the AMI 3-6 Diploma Program and the AMI 6-12 Diploma Program, both in a flexible blended format. The programs are accredited by the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI). Over 2,500 individuals have graduated from AMI diploma program and certificate courses at FME since 1989.
FME is one of only two AMI Montessori Training Centres in Canada. It is registered as a career college under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005.
