Erskine Theological Seminary offers graduate-level theological education through residential, blended, and fully online formats across three South Carolina locations. The curriculum includes Master of Divinity (M.Div.), Master of Arts in Practical Ministry (M.A.P.M.), Master of Arts in Theological Studies (M.A.T.S.), Master of Theology (Th.M.), and Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) programs. Students may develop concentrations in Chaplain Ministries, Pastoral Counseling, and Sports Ministry. The seminary emphasizes academic excellence with practical pastoral application, integrating intellectual, spiritual, emotional, relational, and ministerial formation.
The seminary operates from Bowie Divinity Hall in Due West, with additional facilities in Columbia and Greenville. On-campus housing is available for male and female students on a space-available basis. The Due West campus includes McCain Library (shared with Erskine College), Moffatt Dining Hall, Watkins Student Center with guest rooms, and access to the Galloway Physical Activities Center. Columbia and Greenville sites offer classroom and office space at local Presbyterian churches. Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) is available through partnership with the Institute of Clinical Pastoral Training.
Applicants to master's programs must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a minimum 2.5 GPA, submit official transcripts, a 400–600 word personal essay including faith testimony, and two letters of recommendation addressing Christian character and academic aptitude. Applicants without undergraduate degrees may apply on probation with additional requirements including a 10-page theological essay and evidence of 5+ years of ministry experience. ThM and DMin applicants must possess appropriate graduate degrees. Application deadlines are August 1 (fall), January 1 (spring), and May 1 (summer).
Rooted in gracious Reformed theology and the Westminster Standards, Erskine Seminary aspires to equip servant leaders to advance Christ's Kingdom.
