Drashti Netralaya is a charitable organization established by two eye care professionals. Its mission is to eradicate avoidable and treatable blindness in the economically disadvantaged rural tribal area of Dahod, on the eastern border of Gujarat, India. The hospital is located at NR. History
The founders, Dr. Mehul Shah and Dr. Shreya Shah, began treating patients in Dahod using their own and borrowed funds. Dr. Mehul Shah is a retina specialist trained at Sankara Nethralaya.
Services & Outreach
Services cover cataract, glaucoma, retina, paediatrics, ocular oncology, trauma, oculoplasty, and low-vision rehabilitation. Patients receive free consultations, surgeries, glasses, medicines, meals, transportation, and follow-up care. The hospital conducts over 1,600 outreach camps offering education and preventive care.
Training & Admissions
Training routes include long-term and short-term fellowships, such as DNB Ophthalmology and Comprehensive Ophthalmology Fellowship. Other programs include a B.Sc.
