Dr. K.N. Modi University is a State Government ordained, UGC approved private university. It is situated at INS-1, RIICO Industrial Area Ph-II, Newai, Tonk district, Rajasthan. The university is managed by Dr. K.N. Modi Foundation, whose founder was Dr. Kedar Nath Modi. The university's philosophy is education for the development of society.
History
The university has operated since its inception in the academic year 2010-11. It was approved by the UGC under section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956, notified on 22 April 2010, and later approved under section 12B of the UGC Act 1956. The Dr. K.N. Modi Foundation has a heritage of more than seventy years.
Academics
The university offers professional academic programs in Agriculture, Arts, Commerce, Engineering, Forestry, Law, Management, Pharmacy and Science streams. Programs are offered at Diploma, Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral levels. Diploma programs are currently limited to Engineering and Pharmacy studies. One goal is to enhance academic development by cultivating knowledge through research in the rural areas of Rajasthan.
Campus & Facilities
The university is situated on a sprawling 45 acres campus with sylvan surroundings. The campus is completely Wi-Fi enabled and has separate hostel facilities for boys and girls. Listed facilities include a central library, digital library, book bank, auditorium, labs, smart classrooms, common rooms, a gymnasium, outdoor sports facilities, a yoga, arts, music, dance and photography centre, and medical support. The campus is in the vicinity of Newai, which is well connected by road and rail to other parts of Rajasthan.
Admissions
Undergraduate and postgraduate programs admit students through merit-based or other recognized entrance examinations. Admission routes also include selection for Diploma in Engineering, B.Tech Lateral Entry, M.Tech entrance (ENAT/GATE or other approved test) and MCA entrance (RMCAT or other approved test).
