About
Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, also known as Dr. AIT, was founded in 1980 by M.H. Jayaprakash Narayan. It is managed by the Panchajanya Vidya Peetha Welfare Trust and is located near the Jnanabharathi campus in Mallathahalli, Bengaluru, Karnataka. The institute is named after Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The founder believed that education is the main path for the emancipation of the oppressed classes.
Academics
The institute is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, and is recognized by AICTE and accredited by NBA. It has five schools: School of Core Engineering & Technology, School of Electrical, Electronics Sciences & Engineering, School of Computer Science & Engineering, School of Applied Science & Humanities, and School of Commerce & Management. The institute's research motto is to 'expand the pie'. The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) was established in 2016.
