A historic women's junior college in Shreveport that operated from 1927 to 1942.
Dodd College was founded in 1927 by Monroe E. Dodd, a prominent radio preacher who later served as president of the Southern Baptist Convention (1934–1935). The institution operated as a private junior college exclusively for women in Shreveport, Louisiana. The college's President's Home, constructed in 1928 in Colonial Revival style by architect Clarence W. King, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. The college ceased operations in 1942 after 15 years.
The college maintained a chapter of Sigma Iota Chi sorority, providing students with social and organizational opportunities. The institution's leadership included W. Scott Wilkinson, a Shreveport lawyer and former state House member (1920–1924), who served among the college's trustees.
