Defunct for-profit college that operated career-focused programs across Kentucky, Ohio, and Tennessee.
Daymar College was founded in 1963 as Owensboro Business College, focusing on general business studies. Brothers Mark and Damien Gabis purchased the institution in 1995 and rebranded it as Daymar College in 2001, expanding beyond its original Owensboro location. The college grew to operate five campuses across Kentucky, Ohio, and Tennessee, plus an online campus created in 2008. By 2000, it became a Microsoft Authorized Academic Training Program member and Prometric Testing Center.
Daymar College offered both one- and two-year programs as well as bachelor's degree programs across more than 35 career tracks in 22 different academic programs. The institution was accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) and previously held accreditation from the Accrediting Commission for Business Schools (ACBSP).
In 2016, while under investigation by the Kentucky Attorney General for fraud and facing declining enrollment, Daymar stopped accepting new students at two campuses and announced their closure in 2018. The college had previously settled a 2011 lawsuit brought by Kentucky's Attorney General, refunding over $1.2 million in student fees and forgiving $11 million in student debt. In 2018, Daymar College was acquired and became a branch campus of Hussian College.
