Academics
CUSAT offers comprehensive undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across Engineering, Technology, Environmental Studies, Humanities, Law, Sciences, Marine Sciences, and Social Sciences. The university emphasizes applied science, technology, industry, commerce, and management. All academic programmes are UGC/AICTE approved. The School of Engineering's B.Tech programmes have been reaccredited by NBA under Tier I Category till December 2028. The university hosts numerous national and international academic discourses, seminars, and workshops annually.
Campus & Infrastructure
CUSAT operates across three campuses: the main 180-acre campus in Kalamassery with administrative offices, central library, computer centre, and engineering schools; the Lakeside Campus in Pallimukku housing marine sciences departments with one of Asia's largest marine science libraries; and the Pulincunnu Campus in Kuttanad (65 km away) home to engineering and computer applications colleges. The university provides hostel accommodation for approximately 1,300 students (600 male, 700 female) across 13 hostels. Facilities include a university library, CUSAT Analytical Instruments Facility (CAIF), and various specialized research centres.
Research & Innovation
CUSAT is a research-intensive institution with 14 recognized research centres including the Advanced Centre for Atmospheric Radar Research (ACARR), Centre for Advanced Materials, Centre for Neuroscience, and Inter University Centre for Nanomaterials and Devices. Research activities are supported by central government agencies (UGC, DST, DBT, MHRD) and international research partners through various MoUs. The university has entered into collaborative ventures with reputed universities and institutions worldwide.
Student Life & Welfare
The Department of Youth Welfare coordinates student welfare including counselling, NSS, NCC, scholarships, health care, and cultural activities. The university maintains a strong commitment to equal opportunity and has dedicated cells for gender justice and SC/ST support. CUSAT has an envious record in campus placements with a Central Placement Office coordinating recruitment activities.
