Craven Community College offers both technical and college-transfer degree programs. The college is known for its Institute of Aeronautical Technology (IAT) at the Havelock campus, which serves students near MCAS Cherry Point and Fleet Readiness Center East. The New Bern campus houses the Bosch and Siemens Advanced Manufacturing Center and a Business/Information Technology Building, completed in 2008. Students transfer to East Carolina University, North Carolina State University, and other UNC system institutions.
The college operates three campuses across Craven County. The main New Bern campus hosts most classes and college offices and serves as the administrative hub. The Havelock campus features the Lewis Redd classroom and laboratory building, computer labs, and the Institute of Aeronautical Technology. The MCAS Cherry Point campus, located in the Training and Education building on the military base, is available to base residents and personnel.
Craven Community College partners with Craven County Schools to operate Craven Early College (CEC) on the New Bern campus and Early College EAST (ECE) on the Havelock campus. These small autonomous high schools accept 50 students per year through a lottery system. Students complete a five-year program earning a high school diploma and up to two years of college credit toward a bachelor's or associate degree.
