A for-profit trade school in Chicago that closed in March 2022 after 123 years of operation.
Coyne College was established in Chicago in 1899 as a branch of the Coyne Electrical School of Boston. In the 1960s, it merged with the American Institute of Engineering and Technology to become Coyne American Institute. The institution operated as a private for-profit college focused on technical and trade education for over a century before closing in March 2022.
The college operated from multiple Chicago locations throughout its history. In 2004, it opened two new campuses on West Monroe and North Green Street, replacing the previous West Fullerton location. In June 2016, Coyne College relocated to a new facility in Chicago's Loop business district.
In 2013, Coyne College established the Coyne American Institute Educational Foundation to provide scholarships and financial assistance to its students as well as students of Brown College of Court Reporting.
