Heritage College is a publicly funded English-language CÉGEP in Gatineau, Quebec, offering technical and pre-university programs.
CÉGEP Heritage College is a publicly funded Anglophone CÉGEP in Western Québec. It is one of 48 CÉGEPs (Collège d'enseignement général et professionnel) in the province of Quebec. The College is located 10 minutes from downtown Ottawa in the heart of the National Capital Region, bordering scenic Gatineau Park. Its mission is to ensure every student and staff achieve their full potential through the provision of world-class and life-enhancing education environments in all areas of college life.
English-language college education in the Outaouais region began as an offshoot of the CÉGEP de Hull with an initial enrolment of seven students in 1969. In 1977, the branch became officially known as Heritage Campus in recognition of the heritage building in which it was housed. In July 1988, community involvement by the English-speaking community and Outaouais Alliance led to the creation of a fully autonomous College. The new campus on Cité des Jeunes Boulevard was officially opened in October 1994 with a student population of just over 900. In 2020, for the first time in its history, the College ended the Winter semester completely online due to COVID-19.
The College offers eight Technical programs and four Pre-University programs. These prepare students either for immediate entry into the labor force or for future study at university.
In November 2000, a new wing was inaugurated housing the College gymnasium, physical education complex, and Centre for Continuing Education. Facilities listed by the College include an auditorium, boardroom, conference rooms, classrooms, cafeteria, a newly renovated fitness center, a gymnasium, a soccer field, and an exterior basketball court.
The College offers several admission routes, including regular applicant admission via SRAM (Round 1), admission for Quebec applicants with the Quebec Diploma of Secondary Studies, international applicant admission, late admission, and transfers from other CÉGEPs.
On September 18, 2025, CÉGEP Heritage College signed the Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) Indigenous Education Protocol.
