About

Chettinad Academy of Research and Education (CARE) was conferred the status of Deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 in 2008. The campus is located at Chettinad Health City, Rajiv Gandhi Salai, Kelambakkam, Chengalpattu District, Tamil Nadu. The university's motto is "Capability, Character and Commitment", and its stated vision is to offer transformative education and enable individuals to become responsible, empathetic global citizens who contribute towards a sustainable future.

Academics

CARE offers 74 academic programs in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Allied Health Sciences, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Architecture, Commerce and Law, with about 2500+ students pursuing UG, PG and Ph.D. education. The Faculty of Medicine offers 1 undergraduate (MBBS) program, 20 postgraduate (MD/MS) programs, 7 super speciality (DM/MCh) programs and 1 Post Graduate Diploma course in clinical embryology. The MBBS intake capacity was enhanced from 150 students to 250 seats since 2019. MBBS admission is through NEET (UG) and MCC/DGHS central counselling, while PG (MD/MS) admission is through NEET-PG and MCC counselling.

Campus & Facilities

The campus is 26 kms from the UNESCO heritage site Mahabalipuram and 30 kms from Chennai Raj Bhavan.

Recognition

CARE is accredited with grade A++ by NAAC and has been approved by MCI, INC, TNNMC, AICTE, COA, BCI, AIOTA and PCI. It is conferred 12B status by UGC and has been awarded a Diamond rating by QS I·GAUGE. CARE has 1100+ research publications, 35 patent publications and 50+ active MoUs with academic institutions such as Linkoping University, Sweden.
