Chesapeake College offers associate degree programs, certificates, and letters of recognition across multiple disciplines. The college is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and maintains an honors program. In fiscal year 2021, the college awarded 246 degrees: 135 transfer degrees and 111 career degrees, representing a 7% increase in career degrees over the previous year. The college participates in ARTSYS, a system facilitating student transfers to University of Maryland institutions.
The main campus spans 170 acres with 12 buildings named after the five service-area counties. Key facilities include the Learning Resource Center (with library, academic support services, and tutoring), Health Professions and Athletics Center (completed 2012–2014 with $27 million state funding), Todd Performing Arts Center, Kent Humanities Building with Cadby Theatre, and the Stuart M. Bounds Fitness Center. A satellite campus in downtown Cambridge provides full-service student support including admissions, registration, financial aid advising, computer labs, testing center, and tutoring.
Chesapeake College competes in men's and women's basketball, baseball, softball, men's soccer, and women's volleyball. The college mascot is the Skipjack, represented by Cap'n Jack, a green parrot pirate introduced in August 2009. The college colors are navy, sea green, and sky blue. Student services include the Caroline College Center (housing bookstore, café, student government, and career services) and various support programs including Project Mainstay (TRIO Student Support Services) and supplemental instruction.
Chesapeake College partners with Memorial Hospital at Easton to offer Allied Health programs and collaborates with multiple universities through the Eastern Shore Higher Education Center, including Salisbury University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, La Salle University, and Bowie State University. The college is a member of the Maryland Association of Community Colleges (MACC) and participates in early college access programs for high school students. The college also hosts a Child Care Resource Center serving the five-county region.
