A student residence is located inside the college, with direct access to laboratories, facilities and services. Admission to the DEC is available through the DES (diplôme d'études secondaires) or the DEP. Conditional admission with missing DES units is also offered. Applications are submitted by rounds through the SRACQ for the autumn and winter sessions.
The college is located in Matane, between the sea and the mountains of the Gaspésie region. The Fondation du Cégep de Matane collects and manages funds to support teaching, research and innovation. Sports teams are called the Capitaines, and members train twice a week under coaches.
