In 2006, CITCM formed a partnership with Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (CDUTCM) and Shandong University of TCM for bachelor degree programs and internships. In 2014, it launched its massage therapy program. In 2019, it expanded to a new 10,000-square-foot facility. In 2021, CITCM became the first overseas branch of CDUTCM in North America, offering advanced degree pathways and international internships.
Through its partnership with Chengdu University of TCM, students can pursue a bachelor's degree with a 5-month intensive internship at university hospitals. The massage therapy program combines online learning with two days per week of on-site practical classes. The acupuncture programs offer five distinct pathways so students can match their education to their professional goals.
CITCM features modern classrooms and a state-of-the-art clinical training facility. Its listed facilities include a spacious lab and classrooms, massage training and clinic rooms, TCM treatment rooms, a Chinese herbal pharmacy, a student lounge and kitchen, a library, and a scenic outdoor space. The student clinic allows students to treat real patients under expert supervision. Classes run Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
CITCM accepts applications through a standard application for domestic students and a separate international student application.
