The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine's Boucher Campus is a naturopathic medical education campus in New Westminster, British Columbia, part of CCNM.
The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM), established in 1978 in Toronto, operates two campuses, one in Toronto and one in Metro Vancouver. The CCNM - Boucher Campus is located at #330 – 435 Columbia Street, New Westminster, BC V3L 5N8. The campus is regulated by the Private Training Institutions Regulatory Unit of the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills (PTIRU).
CCNM's first home was in a former art gallery and Pentecostal Tabernacle in Kitchener, Ontario, over 40 years ago. The former Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine, now the CCNM - Boucher Campus, was founded in 2000 on the principles of inclusion, integration, integrity, respect, academic freedom, self-responsibility and innovation. The campus is named after Dr. Joseph "Joe" Boucher, a respected naturopathic physician who lived and practiced in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia.
The CCNM - Boucher Campus uses a mentorship model of education, which highlights the value of interpersonal relationships during the learning process. The naturopathic medicine program is accredited by the Council on Naturopathic Medical Education (CNME), and CCNM received a seven-year reaccreditation period, the longest term available. The campus is EQA designated by the Province of BC Education Quality Assurance, meaning it has met provincial recognized quality standards.
CCNM's vision is to make naturopathic medicine an integral part of health care through pre-eminent education, research and clinical services. The college's Board of Governors set a goal of excellence in research, aiming to conduct and disseminate research relevant to naturopathic medicine. Students are offered internship sites at Community Health Centres and the Boucher Naturopathic Clinic.
