History
The college was established on 31 August 1990 to fulfil the long felt need of the people of the locality. It is affiliated to Gauhati University, Gauhati, Assam, and recognised by NCTE.
Academics
The college offers B.Ed. and B.A. courses. It has departments in Assamese, Bengali, Economics, Education, English, History and Political Science. Its mission is to offer quality teacher education to enlighten, emancipate and empower the student-teacher fraternity and to foster life long learning, with a goal of developing the wholistic personality of teacher-trainees. The college also provides opportunities for faculty and students to undertake action research projects.
