Bellevue College offers transfer associate degree programs, bachelor's degree programs, professional-technical degrees and certifications, continuing education, pre-college programs for high school students, basic education for adults, and workforce development. The college added a bachelor's of applied science in radiation and imaging sciences in 2006. Most classes maintain a 22:1 student-to-faculty ratio, and the college is ranked No. 13 nationally for best online learning and No. 1 for best community college in Washington by Academic Influence.
The main campus sits on 100 acres just north of Interstate 90, with a north campus of 2 acres near Washington State Route 520. BC Residence Hall accommodates up to 400 students in suite and apartment-style housing with community spaces, laundry facilities, Wi-Fi, and food services. The college operates KBCS-FM, a listener-supported radio station founded by students in 1973, and the College Channel for broadcasting classes and athletic events. The Watchdog student newspaper has been published weekly since 1967.
Bellevue Community College opened January 3, 1966, initially holding classes at Newport Senior High School before the main campus opened in 1968. The college changed its name to Bellevue College in 2009. Former Washington Governor Gary Locke served as interim president from May 2020 to July 2023. Dr. David May was selected as president in 2023 and brings decades of higher education experience.
