Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology is a private nonprofit institute located at Chandiwala Estate, Maa Anandmai Marg, Near Govindpuri Metro Station, Kalkaji, New Delhi-110019. Its motto is "Hospitality with a Difference, Service with Smile." The institute's vision is to be a leading institution in Hotel Management and Catering Technology by creating dynamic hospitality industry leaders.
History
The institute was established in 1999 under the aegis of Shri Banarsidas Chandiwala Sewa Smarak Trust Society, a charitable society. The Trust Society was established in 1952 by Shri Brijkrishan Chandiwala in memory of his father, Late Shri Banarsidas Chandiwala. In its infancy, the Trust Society was headed by Shri Devdas Gandhi, son of Mahatma Gandhi.
Academics
The institute is the first Hotel Management Institute affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, awarding a four-year degree in Hotel Management & Catering Technology. Its stated mission is to groom globally competitive, high quality professionals through intensive training with an upgraded curriculum. Faculty members are assigned as mentors to respective student groups. Admission is through CUET-based merit admission (BHMCT Code 127) and the GGSIPU Common Entrance Test (CET).
Campus & Facilities
Listed facilities include a sports centre, auditorium, seminar halls, hostels for boys and girls, library, canteen, computer labs, language lab, Wi-Fi campus, classrooms, audio visual room, and conference room. The college has conducted various research programmes over the past years involving the Hospitality Industry, with papers presented at national and international conferences.
