B. H. Carroll Theological Institute is a graduate-level institution dedicated to equipping students for Christian ministry. It offers Master of Divinity degrees with majors in Christian Ministry, Master of Music degrees with majors in Christian Ministry, and Master of Arts degrees with majors in Theology, Education, and Music. The institute employs innovative distance education models alongside conventional classroom instruction, utilizing an online learning platform and 'teaching churches' located throughout Texas to make theological education more accessible.
The institute was established in 2004 and received its Certificate of Authority from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board in 2007. It gained accreditation from the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) in 2012 and from the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) in 2017. The school was founded by Russell H. Dilday, former president of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and initially headquartered in Arlington before relocating to Irving in 2015.
The institute's library contains approximately 5,500 volumes, including donations from the families of notable Baptist educators.
