The Art Academy offers a flexible, interdisciplinary curriculum designed to let students discover their artistic direction over time rather than committing to a single track at entry. Undergraduate programs include BFA degrees in Creative Writing, Design, Digital Arts Animation, Illustration, Painting and Drawing, Photography, Print Media, and Sculpture, plus an Associate of Science in Graphic Design. Graduate offerings include a Master of Arts in Art Education taught during summer semesters. The main campus at 1212 Jackson Street in Over-the-Rhine features a LEED-certified facility with 24-hour access, open-air atrium, enlarged classrooms, computer labs, student commons, and a Learning Services Center. Students are guaranteed studio spaces in their junior and senior years. On-campus housing is available through the Academy Housing Facility at 13th and Jackson Streets, offering 33 loft-style apartments with fully equipped kitchens for 110 students. The college operates three public galleries—Pearlman, Chidlaw, and McClure—showcasing emerging and professional artists, students, faculty, and alumni work.
Applicants must submit a portfolio of 8–10 original artworks, designs, or creative writing samples via Slideroom, in-person appointment, National Portfolio Day, or virtual meeting. Undergraduate applicants need a minimum 2.0 GPA; those below 2.0 may submit an ACT score of 22+, SAT score of 1020+, or a personal essay. Graduate applicants require a 3.0+ GPA. Official high school transcripts are due by August 1 for Fall applicants and January 1 for Spring applicants. The college welcomes transfer, international, and DACA students with tailored support.
