The Alamo Colleges District offers over 500 degree and certificate programs across five colleges, including 350+ certificates, associate degrees (AA, AS, AAS, AAA, AAT), and bachelor programs. Most courses are designed to transfer to four-year institutions or prepare students for direct employment. The district provides online learning through AlamoONLINE, continuing education, high school programs, and the AlamoPROMISE initiative for affordable access.
The district comprises five autonomous colleges serving the Greater San Antonio metropolitan area, with campuses in San Antonio, Universal City, Kerrville, and New Braunfels. The official service area includes all of Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Kendall, Kerr, and Wilson Counties, plus portions of Atascosa and Guadalupe Counties. The district main office is located at 2222 N. The district provides comprehensive support through the ACCESS Welcome Center, testing centers, academic advising, disability support services, and financial aid assistance. Special populations programs serve military and veterans, high school students, and senior citizens. Transfer academies facilitate pathways to four-year institutions. The district emphasizes affordable education through scholarships, payment plans, and no-cost tuition programs.
The Alamo Colleges District received the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in Education in both 2018 and 2024, recognizing excellence in institutional performance. The district earned the 2026 Top Colleges for Innovation Award from Insight Into Academia magazine and holds Great Place To Work certification. In 2025–2026, the district awarded 15,000+ degrees and certificates.
