Adler Graduate Professional School is a private graduate school located at 890 Yonge Street in Toronto, Ontario. It offers training in clinical psychology, psychotherapy and professional coaching, with programs that emphasize experiential, hands-on education. Its philosophical assumptions and curriculum are based on Individual Psychology, originated by Austrian psychiatrist Alfred Adler (1870-1937).
Adlerian graduate-level professional education has been present in Ontario since 1978, and the school continues a 40-year tradition of Adlerian education and training in the province. ADLER is an independent organization that maintains collegial relations with Adler Graduate School in Minnesota and Adler University in Chicago and Vancouver.
The school offers a variety of academic programs preparing students to provide services in mental health and wellbeing. It offers a Master of Psychology degree and a Doctor of Psychology degree, which are the only such degrees in Ontario. A Transitional Equivalency Program is available for students without a traditional undergraduate honours in psychology. Cohort options are scheduled on weekdays, weekends and evenings, and instructors are all practitioners who bring their professional experience into the classroom.
The ADLER campus is at 890 Yonge Street, and the ADLER Mental Health Services Centre, known as the Adler Centre, provides mental health services for children, adolescents and adults at a fraction of the normal cost. ADLER supports the right of everyone to live free of oppression and deprivation.
