
Government-aided polytechnic offering 3-year diploma programs in engineering since 1979
A.D.J. Dharmambal Polytechnic College was founded in 1979 by Vidhya Seva Ratna Thiru A.D. Jeyaveera Pandian in memory of his beloved wife, the late Mrs. Dharmambal, with initiative from Thiru A.A.D. Jawaharlal Pandian. The college is managed by A.D.J. Dharmambal Educational Trust and is governed by a Governing Council led by Chairman Thiru A.D. Jagadeeshwar, M.B.B.S. and Treasurer Thiru K. Jeyaprakash, B.Sc (Agri.).
The college offers three-year full-time diploma programs in five engineering specializations: Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Instrumentation and Control Engineering (aided stream); Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering (self-financing stream). Each course admits 60 students, totaling 300 seats. The campus features state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, fully furnished classrooms, and a well-stacked library with comprehensive technical collections.
Located along the main road between Nagapattinam and Nagore within the town limits of Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu, on imaginatively laid out grounds with beautiful landscape in a serene environment. The campus provides essential amenities including cooperative stores, canteen, xerox centre, hostel facilities for girls (with current 17 residents), computer labs, auditorium, and sports facilities for both indoor and outdoor games.
The college emphasizes holistic development through co-curricular and extracurricular activities managed by NSS, YRC, and departmental associations. An effective Placement Cell conducts on-campus and off-campus interviews with leading organizations, providing life skills training, personality development programs, and entrepreneurship initiatives. The college focuses on equipping students for research in higher education, employment empowerment, and entrepreneurial ventures.
