The college operates a 425-chair dental teaching hospital equipped with comprehensive diagnostic, therapeutic, and rehabilitation services. Students have access to advanced technologies including CBCT imaging, CAD CAM systems, operating microscopes, intra-oral scanners, and dental implant facilities. The institution emphasizes both clinical training at the teaching hospital and community-based learning through its network of 21 rural dental health centres established since 1991, providing diverse training opportunities from hospital-based practice to community-embedded care.
Community Service and Awards
The institution is recognized for its commitment to community dental health, having established 21 rural dental health centres across a 150km radius. It has received 'The Best Community Dental Service Activities Award' from the International College of Dentists, USA, and the 'Best Outreach Program Award' from the Indian Association of Public Health Dentistry at the national level in 2017 and 2020. The college is also noted for the 'Sushruta Award' for Best Community Outreach Program and holds a Limca Book Record for fabricating 149 complete dentures in a single day.
Specialization in Cleft and Craniofacial Care
In association with the Smile Train Organization, USA and Cleft Children International, Switzerland, the institution is at the forefront of treatment and research in cleft lip and palate and other craniofacial anomalies in India. The college offers specialized fellowship programs in cleft lip and palate and craniofacial surgery, reflecting its expertise and commitment to this field.
